Sport stuff!

Ended up playing 100+ games for Australia. Lived in 4 countries playing pro. 1 Olympics, 2 x World Championships and a World Cup. 12 year old me would not have believed it. Wild.

From Drummoyne to Rio wasn’t exactly a straight line. The 12-year-old on the left had bleach-blonde tips, oversized dreams, and zero idea what was coming. The 26-year-old on the right? Battered, bruised, but somehow still smiling.

Here’s the journey... by the wildly emotional, physically questionable and veerrrrrry occasionally glorious numbers:

🧠 Character Development (I think?)

• 4 overseas seasons in 4 different countries
• 5 missed weddings
• 10 birthdays spent abroad, mostly in chlorinated water
• 3 times I wanted to quit
• Countless early mornings wondering, “Why am I like this?”

🩻 Lessons Learned the Hard Way

• ~1,000 crushing losses
• ~1,000,000 silent tears (and a few loud ones)
• ~1,000’s of physiotherapy hours - and clearly not enough because I ended up having -
• 2 surgeries

🎯 Moments That Haunt Me

• 12 missed game-winning shots
• 3 Medal game overtime heartbreak losses
• 3 heartbreaking team selections missed
• 5 x Lost Grand Finals
• Crushing loss by one to the eventual Rio 2016 Gold Medalists
